Friday Five: 5 Things I Love About Autumn

Fall is in the air! For a very long time, probably since high school, autumn has been my favorite season. Here are 5 things I love about autumn.

The changing leaves
Obvious, right? I’ve found that some people don’t like when the leaves change! Apparently its not because it’s not beautiful, but because it signals that winter’s coming. I like to embrace the beauty that fall brings and admire the trees especially when I’m out walking the dogs.

Sweatshirts
What’s better than putting on some yoga pants or leggings and a nice cozy sweatshirt and lounging around or running errands on the weekend? No more sweating, but not yet cold enough for a coat.

Thanksgiving
I love spending Thanksgiving with just my husband, taking full advantage of the day off. We watch (mock) the parade, have drinks, and cook delicious food. Sometimes I even wear a sweatshirt 😉

The smell of the air
I know the smell of fall is really rotting leaves and stuff, but there is just something about the fall air that is so relaxing.

Autumn Activities
There is so much great stuff to do in the fall. Hiking is a lot more beautiful (and there aren’t buckets of sweat), apple picking, corn “maizes”, pumpkin picking/carving, hay rides, cider drinking, sitting outside by a fire, and all the spooky things that come along with Halloween. It’s just a great time of year!

This list might be totally lame, but autumn brings me so much joy!

I’m surprised football didn’t get its own list item 🙂

Happy fall! Next year you can add to this list your memories of rocking your first marathon!
